Research Interests:

I am a neurobiologist with a long-standing interest in demyelinating diseases in the central nervous system as well as peripheral nerve regeneration. My primary goal is to develop more effective therapies to reduce/prevent permanent disability in children with demyelinating diseases such as Transverse Myelitis. I also actively investigate novel bioengineering/stem cell based strategies to promote peripheral nerve regeneration, particularly in infants with Obstetrical Brachial Plexus Palsy.

Current Research:

Use of animal models to study the demyelinating diseases and peripheral nerve regeneration.
